From Blueprint to Broadcast: Launching a news operation in Ukraine during wartime
This session presents the story behind Newsmax Ukraine, a new Ukrainian news operation created through close collaboration between Broadcast Solutions, nxtedition and Newsmax.
The speakers will take the audience inside every stage of the project—from the original editorial and business blueprint to the design, integration and deployment of a complete broadcast and digital operation in Kyiv. They will explain how Newsmax USA, one of the four leading U.S. cable news networks, combined its international expertise with the local leadership, talent and editorial priorities of Newsmax Ukraine, led by Ludmila Nemyria, a highly respected Ukrainian journalist and content creator. They will also explore how the partners built a flexible newsroom around nxtedition’s NRCS/MAM and content-management technology, while Broadcast Solutions designed, integrated and delivered the studio, production, control-room, AV, IT and distribution infrastructure required to serve television, digital and social-media audiences.
The discussion will also explore the extraordinary operational challenges of delivering equipment, installing systems, training teams and preparing for launch during an active war. It will examine how remote collaboration, resilient infrastructure, cloud-based workflows and AI-enabled language tools are helping the operation serve audiences in Ukrainian, Russian and English.
More than a technical case study, this is a story of partnership, adaptability and purpose. Attendees will hear practical lessons on aligning editorial ambition with technology, coordinating multiple international suppliers, managing risk, and building a scalable local media operation without losing speed, quality or identity.
