Beyond the stream: AI-powered fan engagement for live sports
Live sports is one of the hardest tests for any streaming platform. Fans arrive around the same peak moments, move between screens, follow conversations in parallel, and want more than the match itself: context, highlights, stats, multiple feeds, or a shared viewing experience such as watch parties. The stream has to work, but stability is only the starting point.
This demo will show a live soccer viewing experience where the viewer can interact with an AI avatar inside the stream. Instead of leaving the platform to search for what they missed, replay key moments, ask questions about the match, the viewer gets answers, highlights, and relevant context in the moment.
The session will also explain how this type of experience can support richer sports-event layers, such as multiview, watch parties, personalized recommendations, and new ways to keep fans engaged.
This session will cover:
• Why live sports requires both reliable delivery and richer fan engagement
• How an AI avatar can help viewers get context, highlights, and answers without leaving the stream
• How media and telecom companies can turn live sports from passive viewing into a more interactive experience keeping fans engaged.
