GStreamer is a modular multimedia framework that has proven to be useful in multiple areas in the last 25 years. This talk will present some applications of the technology. GStreamer Editing Services provides the foundation to build a movie editing pipeline (both server-side and client-side, embedded in a web browser via Wasm). GStreamer's WebRTC elements can be used as the building block for a conferencing system. GStreamer is what powers video playback, Media Source Extensions, Encrypted Media Extensions, WebAudio, and WebRTC inside the WPE embedded web browser. Hardware acceleration comes out of the box and is an enabler for embedded systems, where an FFmpeg-based solution might not be an option.
