AI in - Content Curation
There is great potential in using AI to customise or curate the content that is delivered to viewers, perhaps to ensure that it is from a trustworthy source or perhaps to give it a degree of personalisation. In this session we explore two ambitious and novel approaches to these concepts. In the first, the EBU calls upon the news content resources of its numerous, widely distributed, high quality and trustworthy public service members to build a multilingual news chatbot. This huge undertaking, which already allows EBU journalists to explore a vast multilingual database, will be discussed in detail together with a performance evaluation and plans for future enhancements.
Broadcasters in Japan and Korea are using AI-assisted workflows to create video productions by the intelligent cropping and editing of items from 8k source material. A typical application (the 'Fancam') is to allow fans to follow just their chosen performer in a music concert. An AI-based tool has been developed which can identify views and simultaneously create many such streams. Join us to see it in action.
