Transforming Music Shows with AI - Immersive Viewing and Innovative Fan Engagement
The future of music shows is here, with artificial intelligence revolutionizing both the viewing and fan engagement experiences. The Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), South Korea’s public broadcaster, will showcase its pioneering generative AI technology, VVERTIGO Vision. VVERTIGO Vision automatically learns existing music stage designs and expands 16:9 broadcast format videos to a spatial video format, achieving a full 180-degree view. Using this technology, broadcasters can produce content in a traditional manner and transform it for devices like Apple's Vision Pro and Meta's Quest, offering viewers a superior immersive experience while enabling content creators to produce high-quality MR content more cost-effectively.
Additionally, KBS's partner, the University of Seoul, will introduce the innovative Customized Cheer App using index communication in the audio band. This app allows fans to display their artist's name and heart icons on their phone screens during performances. In group performances, several members often share solo parts, and it is essential to cheer for the member who is in charge of the solo part. The app automatically updates the cheering screen on the cell phone based on the current solo performer. Utilizing the frequency range between 16kHz and 20kHz, this technology ensures seamless transmission of cheer signals to fans' phones, creating a more interactive and engaging fan experience. This technology is significant in that it provides new ways for viewers to participate in the music show while maintaining the broadcaster's existing transmission systems.
