IBC Technical Papers Sessions & MMP's

What are the IBC Technical Papers and MMP's?

What are the IBC Technical Papers and MMP's?

The IBC Technical Papers and MMP's (Multi Media Presentations formerly Technical Posters) are world renowned for promoting the latest innovations and technological thinking. Stripped of marketing and commercial influence the proposals made to IBC are rigorously peer reviewed and stand or fall on the strength of their expertise, novelty, clarity and insight.

Forming the cornerstone of the IBC Conference, as an integral part of the Advances in Technology stream, the papers and MMP's provide us with a fascinating barometer of trends in media developments and showcase, explain and forecast advances which will benefit the entire media industry.

The best paper will also receive the accolade of the IBC Best Conference Paper. This year the IBC Best Conference Paper has been awarded to Marcelo Souza and his colleagues Joāo Castellani, Daniel Monteiro and Carlos Octávio Quieroz from Brazilian broadcaster TV Globo, for their paper entitled ‘Big data for data journalism, enhanced business analytics and video recommendation at Globo’.

Call for papers 2018 opens 2 January 2018!

Publishing the IBC Technical Papers

Publishing the IBC Technical Papers

In 2017 more synopses than ever were submitted to IBC, with the final total reaching 516. Competition was intense and IBC's experienced Technical Papers Committee reviewed all proposals to choose those which they believe to be the most advanced, innovative and thought-provoking.

Authors of successful synopses were then invited to prepare full papers for further review.

Benefits of successful papers:

  • authors of successful papers are invited to present their work at the IBC2018 Conference and will see their work published and available for download in a digital library
  • the Best Conference Paper will also receive an award presented at the prestigious IBC Awards Ceremony
  • achieve valuable word of mouth reference by the world's leading technologists about your idea, your team or your brand and gain the attention of international technical press
  • one silver conference pass, worth over €2,000, is provided for the primary author of the successful paper. If the paper will be presented by a different person at the conference, please state this on submission so the conference pass can be allocated to that individual.

Like the MMP's, this key area of the show provides a link between the conference and exhibition and here you can meet the authors and gain real insight into the projects being developed in the world’s R&D labs.
