IBC COVID Advisory Group Market Update

MARKET UPDATE – SEPTEMBER 3

Nine days out from the show, the threat from Covid is now low. 

Trade shows continue to take place around the world safely and successfully. The majority are reporting good attendance. The positive momentum towards a strong IBC2022 continues.

Global Covid reports shows Covid levels falling in most countries. The number of hospital admissions and deaths remain low. Therefore, there are no social restrictions planned in place or on the horizon.

Event safety protocols vary depending on the local rules. The latest IBC/EU protocols can be found at Your Safety & Covid-19 - IBC2022.  As reported in our last update, some event attendees continue to wear a mask. The evidence so far shows that attendees and exhibitors are very mindful and respectful of individual views and the needs of others.

Exhibition stand bookings and visitor registration for IBC2022 are strong and climbing.

IBC’s experts and advisors will continue to review the data from across the globe.

MARKET UPDATE – MAY 30

There has not been much change in Covid levels across Europe since IBC’s May Covid market update. 

Covid levels across Europe continue to fall, including within The Netherlands.

Large scale events have concluded across Europe with no disruption including ISE (Barcelona), ANGA (Cologne).

The return to safe and successful trade shows within the EU is also mirrored across the globe. NAB (Las Vegas), CABSAT (Dubai) returned successfully to in-person events with no significant Covid disruption. 

The positive feedback from these events has created a strong favourable sentiment towards IBC2022 taking place successfully.

The environment and protocols have been very similar across all these events. Social distancing  was not the norm or required, and mask usage was low.

It should be noted that some attendees are still using a mask. The evidence so far shows that attendees and exhibitors are very are mindful and respectful of individual views and the needs of others.

The up-coming Broadcast Asia (Singapore June1-3) event will provide more insight into the Asian market.

The Covid levels across Europe continue to fall. This is also true within The Netherlands.

Large scale events are running across Europe with no disruption.

The strong feedback from exhibitors and customers concludes that the NAB event in Las Vegas was a success.This positive feedback has created a strong favourable sentiment towards IBC2022.

ISE (Barcelona), ANGA (Cologne), CABSAT (Dubai), and Broadcast Asia (Singapore), are now on the horizon. These will provide good benchmarks for IBC2022. IBC’s experts and advisors will continue to review the data and provide regular status reports. The next update will be June 1st.
