Who owns IBC?

IBC is run by the industry for the industry. Owned by a mix of charities, not-for-profit organisations, societies and associations representing both visitors and exhibitors and any surplus is ploughed back into the industry through our owner bodies.

Why has IBC cancelled?

IBC has taken the difficult decision to cancel IBC2020, as we cannot guarantee at this time that we will be able to deliver a safe and valuable event to the quality expected of IBC. Please read the full statement here.

Is the IBC Accelerator Media Innovation Programme still going ahead?

The Accelerator Programme is still active. Champions and participants will continue to work through their exciting projects throughout the year. IBC will showcase these virtually during the virtual IBC Week and is also exploring other ways to showcase these projects in 2020, more information will be released soon.

Does IBC have pandemic insurance?

Unfortunately, major trade shows around the world have been unable to secure pandemic insurance from the insurance market. 

Will my event insurance cover me now that IBC2020 is cancelled? 

All participants of IBC Show, have always been advised to take out the relevant business insurance for the event, and should refer to their own policy and insurance. 

Now that you have cancelled, what are my options? 

We offer exhibitors two options: 
  1. A voucher for 100% of the amount already committed by an exhibitor, to be used over the next few years; or 
  2. A cash refund for a lesser amount, calculated according to unrecoverable expenses IBC has already incurred

If I take the voucher, how does the voucher work?

The voucher may be redeemed as follows: 

  • 50% against IBC2021 stand space 
  • 30% against IBC2022 stand space 
  • 10% against IBC2023 stand space; and 
  • 10% digital credit against IBC365 & IBC Week during 2020 

How does the digital credit against IBC365 & IBC Week work?

The voucher may be spent across IBC365 in 2020 & the virtual IBC Week in September 2020. Please contact your account manager to discuss and find out more about your individual package. 

How do I apply for my voucher?

We will be in touch with you in the coming days to organise your voucher and explain your IBC365 options.

How do I apply for my cash refund?

If you would like to take the cash refund option, please speak to your account manager.

But I have already booked my hotel?

If you have booked through the recommended Rai hotel services you will be able to cancel your hotel room(s) at no charge at this early stage. 

Is IBC supporting me with any supplier contracts such as stand builds etc?

As an exhibitor the relationship and contract you hold with one of IBC’s verified suppliers is between yourself and that supplier and therefore we ask that you liaise with them directly. 

I’ve booked a paid for ticket to IBC2020, can I have my money back?

If you have booked and paid to attend IBC2020, buying a Visitor+, Business Knowledge or Premium ticket then yes you can have refund. The IBC team are extremely busy following the cancellation of the show, but rest assured we will get back to you and process this refund.
