Integrating Broadcast and Internet Businesses: Social networks - friend, frenemy or foe?

What is the role that social can play in the future of television? For broadcasters it has already had a major effect on news services, but what about the rest of the broadcaster offer? We talk to them about their use of social networks and ask what works and what doesn't?  Does building a community work? Can social be used as research to help direct content development? How can it increase audiences? But as the global networks now move into serious investment in content, we ask at what point does the TV industry decide the relationship doesn't feel very 'social' any more.
