Diversity at IBC

At IBC, we recognize that Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) helps to support creativity and innovation within our industry and we are keen for everyone to get on board.   Our objective is to foster a culture within the workplace and at the Show where differences are embraced and barriers to progression in our industry are overcome and role models are celebrated.

Earlier this year, we formed a Diversity & Inclusivity group, chaired by Dr Naomi Climer OBE, Chair of IBC Council and launched the IBC "I Believe in Change" campaign. One of our focal points for 2018 has been gender equality.  In 2017 our representation of women on stage was 14%.  This inspired us to drive positive change and we made a commitment to improve upon that number for IBC2018. We are delighted to announce we achieved 37% of women on stage. We were also delighted to see that the IBC International Honour for Excellence saw its first-ever woman recipient this year. Joan Ganz Cooney was the co-creator of the global phenomenon that is Sesame Street, 50 years ago and her trophy was collected on her behalf by one of the street's longest residents, Ernie.
