Cloud-gaming is gaining relevance in our living rooms and consumers are nowadays expecting their Set-top-box or TV to be able to connect to online gaming platforms. WPEWebKit is a WebKit port for Linux-based embedded devices designed with flexibility and hardware acceleration in mind, leveraging common 3D graphics APIs for best performance. WPEWebKit is deployed in millions of Set-top-boxes across the world. GStreamer is a free and open-source multimedia framework, also widely deployed on all major hardware platforms, including Set-top-boxes and smart TVs. WPEWebKit can now be used to connect to game cloud platforms such as Amazon Luna, using its lightweight GstWebRTC backend. Thanks to the wide support for hardware decoders provided by GStreamer, WPEWebKit is able to achieve hardware-accelerated rendering of WebRTC streams.
